Here's the back cover summary:Ī heartwarming and refreshing debut novel that proves one thing: there's not enough data in the world to predict what will make your heart tick. But I made the rookie reader mistake of opening it to the first page "just to see" what the voice/tone was going to be like. I was in the middle of another book and wanted to finish that one first. So I wasn't planning on reading this book when I did. (And that's saying something because I'm one who only pre-orders "sure things" AKA auto-buy authors.) However, I was able to get get my hands on an advanced copy of The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang, and I'm here to tell you that this is a pre-order worthy book. I don't normally do reviews for books that aren't out yet.

Those living in Samhattan had been trained not to think of Daphne to the point where citizens would forget conversations and previous incidents-specifically murders-that happened only hours before that concerned her. I don't usually read romance novels, but I love short stories, particularly intercon-nected ones, and so I couldn't resist Whiteout! It didn't disappoint. Told through a set of overlapping, intertwining stories, Whiteout is the story of Stevie and her friends' attempt to reunite her and Sola in a way so big, so meaningful, that she won't be able to help but forgive her-and each of them falling in love along the way. But for Stevie, staying home is not an option-not when tonight is her last chance to apologize to her girlfriend, Sola, and show her how much she means to her. In a book that is as eye opening as it is refreshing, Kurlansky offers the reader much insight into this product that has been a central part of history as long as female mammals have roamed the earth. One may presume the topic is quite mundane or simplistic, but the attentive reader will discover that milk and its byproducts are anything but boring, though it is one area where history has only added to the controversies, rather than neutralise them. When I saw the latest Mark Kurlansky book, all about the history of milk, I could not help but wonder if it would be an entertaining read, as I knew he had tackled some other interesting food topics. It stuck with me and I have tried to present the same positive outlook to my son. I remember an advertising campaign from my youth that extolled the virtues and health benefits of drinking milk. First and foremost, a large thank you to NetGalley, Mark Kurlansky, and Bloomsbury (USA) Publishing for providing me with a copy of this publication, which allows me to provide you with an unbiased review. Marian Keyes excels at writing chicklit novels that aren't afraid to deal with hard issues, whether it be infidelity as in here, or depression, rejection or whatever the issues is, and she manages to do it with style and humour. It is interesting to read this book after some of the others because I think it is possible to see the development of Keyes through the different styles. Having read several Marian Keyes books and enjoyed them, with Last Chance Saloon being my favourite, I wanted to go back to the beginning and read the Walsh sisters books in order, starting with Watermelon.
